What do you want?

I've asked you on Twitter, I've asked you on Facebook, now I ask you here...

What do you want to see on the site? Other than the usual red carpet follow-up, is there something that you want to see regularly on Somewhere Over the Red Carpet?

One of my favorite readers suggested...

What do you think? (You may not get the joke, but trust me, it's actually pretty funny!)

**Sorry about the Gloria Allred photo. It was the best nipple ring reference I could find that didn't involve nudity.

Did you miss me?

The holidays are almost here, and before we know it we'll all be joining a gym and not following through on our resolutions. So, while we dwell on the extra pounds we put on stuffing our faces with cookies, you can rest assured that in approximately 3 weeks, award season will be in full swing! You all know what that means... celebrities and their ugly dresses are back!!!

I will be posting regularly during all red carpet events on Twitter. Follow me http://twitter.com/#!/l3etsy. I will also be putting up a follow up post the next day on here. Don't say you weren't warned!

Hope everyone has an excellent holiday (not as good as that guy though)! See you in a few!

MTV VMAs

I will start by saying that every member of the cast of Jersey Shore and every other show shot in New Jersey should be censored (and preferably cancelled) by the FCC. They are beyond ridiculous and I seriously feel dumber every time I see anything involving them! Also, I'd like to thank Snooki for getting bangs...she just saved me $65 on the haircut I was planning to get.

Now, on to the fashion...I don't really know how I feel about the white carpet - it kinda seems a little copycatish since P. Diddy has been doing his "White Party" for years! From a fashion standpoint, it doesn't matter how many times someone says that it's now okay to wear white after Labor Day, I will not fall into that trap. As far as I'm concerned, it's still not okay, and with it being one week post-Labor Day, the white carpet seems a little tacky!

Lady Gaga did it up in typical Gaga fashion, but the VMAs it totally the place to do it. I could have an entire blog post based on her alone. Her Alexander McQueen gown was beautiful! She looked statuesque (those 8 inch platforms helped with that) and actually quite pretty - minus the multicolored hair and feather mohawk.

I don't get the liberty spikes with the second get-up, and the dress (by Georgio Armani) was like a strange tribute to Madonna (remember the cone boobs?)!

The third dress was way beyond the weirdness I can handle (by Franc Fernandez). I was going mention how it looked like bloody flesh - until I realized it was bloody flesh. This is not the first time she's worn meat either (see cover below). How bad must she have smelled in that dress made of beef and the steak on her head? I don't really get her explanation, but you can read it here

On another note, she does get my respect for taking a stand and having the discharged openly gay military members with her. She's right, "No one person is more valuable than another person." We all need to remember that. So, if she wants to wear a cow's guts on her person, then more power to her...but I'll pass on that trend, thanks!

Katy Perry was right about her look, she did look like an ice skater. And the cotton candy colored stripes in her hair were as weird as her husband-to-be.
Best entrance goes to 30 Seconds to Mars with the bike crawl! Jared is still as hot as he was on My So Called Life. Love him! (Sorry, couldn't find a picture of their arrival).

Who the hell is Robyn, and what is she wearing?

Jenna Jameson looks like a 90's porn star...oh..wait...

I have never wanted to smack somebody as badly as I want to smack Justin Bieber's mother (she is the one at fault here, and I'm totally against child abuse, so I can't smack him). What a freakin' tool that kid is! I hope he gets a prepubescent receding hair line! He didn't even bother to sing and dropped a drum stick! Girls, wise up, this kid has no skills!

Every time Will.I.Am gets on a stage it becomes an autotuned, robotic, futuristic hell. STOP IT! You look stupid!

Kanye's tomato-red suit was almost as bad as his performance. He's the "douchebag, asshole, jerk-off," and whatever else he rambled on about! Can we please stop giving Kanye West the attention he so craves? He's not worthy! He's nothing but an arrogant jackass!

Speaking of jackasses...I hate to admit it, but Jackass 3D looks hilarious!

Ke$ha needs a bath and a haircut! However, wearing a garbage bag was unbelievably appropriate!

I still don't love Rhianna. Her sense of fashion sucks and she can't sing live (trust me, I've seen her in concert, she SUCKS). Also, the flaming red hair look is so played out (thank you Kat Von D for officially killing that trend).

I really couldn't stand deadmau5 when he first hit the scene...mostly because of the scene kid spelling of his name, but he's kinda growing on me. His style is another story all in itself though!

The biggest trend I noticed was the leather look. (Emma Stone, Jason Derulo, Rosario Dawson, Selena Gomez, and Teri Seymour)

Cher is nothing short of the baddest bitch alive! She pulled it off 20 years ago and looks just as amazing now!

Chelsea Handler is awesome! The Lindsey Lohan clip was great and the Gaga entrance was awesome! She's so hilarious!

To wrap it up, I would like to thank the very few people who actually sang during their performances (nope, not you Justin Bieber)...Eminem & Rhianna (even though she sounded like crap), Usher, Florence and the Machine (so good), Taylor Swift (I think), the always lovely, Mary J. Blige & Drake, and Hayley Williams & B.O.B (love him).

And the Emmy goes to...

Here we are again, at red carpet season! I was not home to watch the event live, which is the reason is took me almost two weeks to get through all the DVR coverage and get this post up! However, I finally made it through all of the great gowns, the fugly frocks, and the terrible tuxes.
The Emmys, overall, were less than exciting. Nothing too over-the-top (except January Jones - see below), but nothing too fantastic either.

Here's a quick run-down of some of my favorites...and those not-so-favorites.

Starting with the host and his wife, Nancy Juvonen. Jimmy Fallon looked great - he was also a decent host. However, his wife should have spent a lot less time in the spray tan booth, especially if she wanted to wear that dress. She's so orange that she looks like a member of the cast of Jersey Shore. Hint: do NOT match your dress to your skin!

What is more ridiculous than Bjork and that stupid swan?

January Jones and that stupid Versace! Need I say more?

This reminds me of a doily on my grandmother's table! (Diana Agron in Carolina Herrera)

Guilianna Rancic looks like she borrowed her dress from a Jem doll!

Mary Hart is apparently stuck in the Designing Women era of 1985 and is channeling Delta Burke.

I don't even know who these chicks are or what they do, but I do know I hate their dresses! Prints are not for the red carpet! (Rutina Wesley - left, and KayCee Stroh - right.)

The mesh belly panel was out of style before Seinfeld was even off the air! (Julia Louise Dreyfus in Narcisco Rodriguez.)

Kyra Sedgwick's dress (Monique Lhullier) is way too heavy for a summer award show and her hair is a mess!

This is the reason that reality TV "stars" - I use the word loosely, should not be allowed on the red carpet (Stephanie Pratt).

And if I'm going to criticize the above mess for wearing her too short frock, than Heidi Klum is guilty of the same offense! Holy shortness Batman! We get it, you've had four kids and still have a killer bod, we don't need to see the ENTIRE bod though (in Marchesa)!!

While we're on the subject, Seal decided to go with the Leisure Suit Larry look. Button up your shirt, add about 5 inches to your wife's skirt, and then try that whole red carpet thing again!

Another couple that got it all wrong is Ty and Holly Burrell. His combat boots and her busted up Morticia Adams rose garden are such a complete disaster!

A couple more that I just don't like...Anna Pacquin looking like a matador in Alexander McQueen (R.I.P.), Kate Gosselin in only what I can guess is from Sears, and Sophia Vergara in Carolina Herrera with a crazy reptile style stripe up the front.

So, now onto the ones I like...
There were two big surprises on the Emmy red carpet. They normally look a mess, but both Kelly Osborne (in Tony Ward Couture) and Kim Kardashian (in Marchesa) looked fantastic!

I absolutely love Claire Danes in Armani Prive. The only complaint I would have is not with her look, but with the fact that all Armani Prive gowns are starting to look alike.

My best dressed for the night...

RICO RODRIGUEZ from Modern Family! What a cutie! When asked who he was wearing, he said, "Le Mom and Le Sister"! I love it!

The MTV Video Music Awards are up next! Stay tuned!
