SAG Awards 2014

How many people actually watched the SAG Awards? No one? Yeah, me either. However, the red carpet was on fire! Lots of great looks - and some not so great, of course. Here's a quick rundown of the best and worst looks of the night.

*As always - click on the pictures to enlarge.

BIG WINNERS
Shades of blue seem to be a huge trend this season. These stars really got it right on Saturday night!
Amy Adams in Antonio Berardi
Jennifer Lawrence looking gorgeous in Dior Haute Couture
Love this Carolina Herrera printed gown on Julie Bowen
And Juliette Lewis in this printed gown by Vivienne Westwood's Gold Label Capsul

Lupita Nyong'o knocked it out of the park with this Gucci gown. Both color and cut are perfect. Best of the night in my opinion!
Sarah Hyland in Pamella Roland - as always looks lovely and age appropriate
Elisabeth Rohm in Marchesa

She can just do no wrong on a red carpet. Sofia Vergara is stunning in Donna Karan Atelier.
AGING GRACEFULLY
In an industry that isn't always kind to those over the age of 40, these stars are still brightly shining!

Helen Mirran in Escada, Oprah Winfrey in Badgley Mischka, Meryl Streep in Stella McCartney, and Rita Moreno on Morgan Freeman (don't know the designer of her gown, and don't really care - she's awesome!)

JUST NO!
With all the hits, there must also be some misses...and there were.
Prints gone wrong: Edie Falco made herself look short and frumpy (which she's not) in this printed mixed hem dress, then cut the length of her legs with those gladiator shoes. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure if it's the color, the shoes, or the cut of this Valentino jumpsuit on Julia Roberts that's not working for me, but it's just not.

I'm all for flaunting the baby bumps, but this look is just not a good one. She doesn't even look pregnant here - she just looks like she's wearing something that doesn't fit correctly. Kerry Washington is way too cute to wear something that is so desperately crying for attention.

Speaking of crying for attention - as usual, Mariah Carey is grasping to her youth that is long gone in this way too short LBD.

Oh, Blossom! I don't even know what to say...Vintage 1865 maybe?

Apparently Sandra Bullock is really trying to keep this Barbie dress trend going! Why, I don't know. This Lanvin is so 1980's, and not in a good way!
MORE JARED - BECAUSE I CAN
He's sweeping the awards, and deservedly so. He's a local (Northern Virginia guy) and just plain pretty. He also brought his mom to the SAG Awards (who is totally adorable)...all together now...AWWWWW!

  1. I didn't watch the SAG Awards, Didn't know they were on until afterwards. I agree with everything you said. I'm so disappointed though that Sandra Bullock failed twice. She's usually one of my favorites. Hope she can make it up at the Oscars!
